2020 Graduation Ceremony

At yesterday's ceremony, the graduates of the Mathematics, Statistics as well as the Computational Science and Engeneering (CSE) degree programmes celebrated their successful graduation. We wish them all the best for the future!

by Monika Krichel

The students, who were watching via live stream, were welcomed and guided through the event by Manfred Einsiedler, Director of Studies for Mathematics. In his introductory speech, he emphasised the wide range of opportunities that are now open to the students.

Guest speakers were 2010 Fields Medallist Elon Lindenstrauss from Hebrew University, and student representative Anna Bot. With her motto "things will turn out just fine", she reviewed her years as a student. She emphasised how important friendships are in overcoming the many challenges during their studies and that they can all be proud of having mastered them together.

The two directors of studies for CSE and Statistics: Ralf Hiptmair and Marloes Maathuis congratulated their students and expressed their pride that another generation of students is celebrating their graduation. Both emphasised that with the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies, the graduates will be well equipped to make a valuable contribution to society.
