Dr Alessandro Sisto (*1986), currently a post-doctoral student at ETH Zurich, as Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Alessandro Sisto's field of work is geometric group theory, an area of research at the interface between geometry and algebra. One of his main interests is generalisations of hyperbolic groups, which play a central role in geometric group theory. He is a world leader in this field. In addition, he has made important contributions on numerous other topics, including random walks and mapping class groups.
