We are delighted to announce that Professor Siddhartha Mishra has been elected  member of the mathematics division of the European Academy of Sciences.

Roberto Molinaro successfully passed his oral doctoral thesis examination entitled: "Applications of deep learning to scientific computing". Congratulations!

Konstantin Rusch successfully passed his oral doctoral thesis examination entitled: "Physics-inspired machine learning". Congratulations!

Marco Petrella successfully passed his oral doctoral thesis examination entitled: "Multi-scale computations of compressible two-phase flow problems". Congratulations!

Siddhartha Mishra has been awarded this year's Rössler Prize for his research on solutions for highly complex flow and wave phenomena. He is being recognised for his contributions to faster and more accurate predictions of weather, climate and tsunamis, and for the computer simulations that enable them.

We are delighted to announce that Tim De Ryck has been honoured with the 2023 PhD Award from the Analytics Club at ETH.

The Infosys Science Foundation awarded the 2019 Infosys Prize for Mathematical Sciences to Professor Siddhartha Mishra.

Siddhartha Mishra is the winner of the 2019 ICIAM Collatz Prize which is one of the most prestigious prizes awarded in applied mathematics.

Avalanches, tsunamis, solar storms: Siddhartha Mishra is captivated by unstable and turbulent flows. He combines mathematics with scientific computing in a bid to understand their common causes. Helping him in his quest are equations, first written down by the Swiss mathematician, Leonhard Euler.

We are delighted to announce that the 2018 Jacques Louis Lions Award has been awarded to Professor Siddharta Mishra at the ECCM-ECFD Conference in Glasgow.

Filippo Leonardi successfully passed his oral doctoral thesis examination entitled: "Numerical methods for ensemble based solutions to incompressible flow equations". Congratulations!

Siddharta Mishra is one of five ETH Zurich researchers that receive a  ERC Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). Their projects are funded with around two million Swiss francs each.

We are delighted to announce that Professor Siddhartha Mishra will be an invited speaker at the 2018 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Rio de Janeiro.

The International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics has elected Cecilia Pagliantini as a GAMM Junior for the years 2018 to 2020.
