Sara van de Geer will have the honour to give three Wald Memorial Lectures on the topic: "High-dimensional statistics: a triptych". The Wald Memorial Lectures honour Professor Abraham Wald. A Wald Lecturer gives two, three or four one-hour talks on one subject.

The World Congress in Probability and Statistics organized jointly by the Bernoulli Society and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics is hosted by the Fields Institute from 11 to 15 July 2016 in Toronto. The Congress is held every four years and covers all branches of statistics and probability. This includes theoretical, methodological, applied and computational statistics and probability, as well as stochastic processes.
