Travelling from the airport
There is a direct tram line to ETH. The station at the airport is next to the bus terminal on top of the Airport Center. Take tram no. 10 from “Zürich Flughafen, Bahnhof” in the direction of "Zürich Bahnhofplatz/HB" as far as stop "ETH/Universitätsspital". The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Trams run every 7 to 15 minutes between 6.00 and 23.30.
There are several train lines running from the airport (underground station) to the city centre (Hauptbahnhof, main station). Take any of the trains leaving from the train station at the airport in the direction of "Zürich HB". Trains leave regularly between 5.00 and 00.30, the journey takes approximately 15 minutes.
Tickets (same ticket for both tram and train) can be obtained from the ticket vending machines or the ticket counters at the airport train station. A single ticket from the airport to the city centre/ETH costs CHF 6.60 (zones 110 and 121, count as 3 zones as 110 counts double).
Travelling from the main station (Zürich HB)
From the main station there are two direct tram lines to ETH.
Tram No. 6: leaves the “Bahnhofstrasse/HB” stop. Take the 6 in the direction of “Zoo” as far as the “ETH/Universitätsspital” stop.
Tram No. 10: leaves the “Bahnhofplatz/HB” stop. Take the 10 in the direction of “Flughafen, Fracht” as far as the “ETH/Universitätsspital” stop.
