The location of this school has an amazing history. This is were Vesalius
did his first dissections of human bodies. He bought the corpses from
the hangman of the Court House located nearby (you can see it on the back
of the picture, or here
). It also served for a long time as a jail for women! All these
are facts, and not rumors: they are for instance reported on the

of the school.
This school is generally thought to be a good institution. You can
find some comments about it (and Stanford), made by another former Stanford/Catteau
alumni, on his
web site
. Obviously, his remarks address an old situation (it was co-ed at my
time, of course), but I definitely agree with most of them.
