Google, Linear Algebra, and Beyond

This (pro)seminar will be concerned with the beautiful mathematical concepts behind Google's PageRank and, more generally, information retrieval and data clustering: Perron-Frobenius theory, spectral graph theory, eigenvalue computation.

First meeting

Please come to HG G 37.4, Wednesday 26.09., 12:30 for an initial meeting, where we discuss the topics of the seminar as well as the weekday of all subsequent meetings.

Weekly meetings

Starting from 23.10., the seminar takes place every Tuesday 8:15 - 9:00 (possibly longer, depending on the topic) in HG E 33.5. Blackboard and projector will be available. Please contact me at least 3 weeks before giving the talk.
