• Part III essay on symplectic cobordism of contact 3-manifolds. There have been many developments in the field since I wrote this, most excitingly perhaps the recent work of Latschev-Wendl which gives a general means of detecting directness of the cobordism category using the degree of nilpotency of an element in the SFT algebra.
