Questions about Authentication & Password

I get error that the keychain does not match with the entered password (Mac OS X)

Remove the keychain folder (Finder > Home > Library > Keychains), then logout and login again. Now the keychain Error should disappear.

How can I change my password?

You can change your password on this page: http://password.ethz.ch, then click on "Password ändern" (top left), enter your new password twice and click on "Passwort setzen".

My password isn't anymore accepted (but it should ;-). What is wrong?

Questions about SPAM, White- & Black-List

Where are my SPAMs?

You can find your SPAMs in a mailbox called "Junk E-Mail" (if your ETH account has been created before 31.12.2010). Eventually (for example if you are using Thunderbird) you have to "subscribe" to this mailbox. These emails will be automatically deleted after 60 days. If you don't want to receive SPAMs anymore, you can deactivate this feature.

I receive a lots of !SPAM-email in the Inbox. What can I do?

Why my whitelist hasn't been exported to the new mail server?

We planed to migrate also the whitelists but when we were so far, the specialists of the new mail server dissuaded us to do that. Whitelists are only necessary when the SPAM filter fails and since this a new SPAM filter, we don't need whitelists, at lease, from the beginning.

How can I subscribe to (unsubscribe from) a mailbox (for Thunderbird)?

Go the the menu "File" an select "Subscribe...". In the new window select the mailbox you want to subscribe to (unsubscribe from) and click on "Subscribe" (resp. "Unsubscribe") and then on "OK".

I see more folders than I have and when I click on them I get an error message. What can I do?

This usually happens with Thunderbird, but it can affect other mail clients. The only solution that we have at the moment is to "unsubscribe" to all mailboxes then quit Thunderbird and then "subscribe" to all mailboxes again.

Why do I get an error "SMTP session failed: 550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender" when sending from other identities?

If you need to configure more identities in your mail client, you also need to configure an outgoing mail-server (SMTP) for each identity.
