A geometric construction of Yoshikawa's "discriminant" modular forms

K.-I. Yoshikawa constructed a family of Siegel modular forms using spectral geometry. We give a geometric construction of these modular forms and prove that they are of arithmetic origin. This is joint work with V. Maillot.
